Spices exports have been consistently moving up during the last one decade. The spices exports have registered an increase of 210% in quantity and 622% in value during this period. Now it commands 46% in global trade in terms of quantity and 28% in terms of value.
India exports around 0.30 million tons of spices annually and account for around 45% of the export volume and 30% of the export value. The major destination of Indian spice exports during 2005-06 are USA followed by Malaysia, UK, China, Germany, Japan,
UAE, Sri Lanka, and Singapore
